The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Begbie lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Phuttharaksa circles away quickly and effectively.
Begbie misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Begbie connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Phuttharaksa tries for a takedown but Begbie circles away easily
and Begbie counters with a stiff right hand.
Phuttharaksa tries for a takedown but Begbie sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Phuttharaksa fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Franko Begbie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thiraphon Jr Phuttharaksa.

Begbie stalks Phuttharaksa and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Phuttharaksa's face. Phuttharaksa staggers backwards, shaken.
A combination from Begbie does no damage.
Phuttharaksa closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Franko Begbie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Begbie connects with a good right hand that stumbles Phuttharaksa. Phuttharaksa circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Phuttharaksa is still on wobbly legs! Can Begbie finish him?
Begbie digs a good hook to Phuttharaksa's body.
Phuttharaksa throws a wild hook but Begbie just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Phuttharaksa gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the ropes! The referee jumps in - Begbie raises his hands in celebration and walks away!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Franko Begbie!
