Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Dylan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Langdon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Daniel Dylan has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Daniel Dylan!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Robert Langdon!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Robert Douchet and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Langdon.

Langdon dives in and scores a takedown into Dylan's guard.
Dylan has momentary wrist control but Langdon slips an elbow through the middle.
Langdon throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Langdon passes Dylan's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Langdon wants to take a breather but Dylan is having none of it.
Langdon throwing shots but Dylan is blocking nicely.
Langdon throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Langdon not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Dylan keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Dylan scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Langdon manages to mount him!

Dylan wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Langdon.
Dylan is in a horrible position here. Langdon smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Langdon goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Dylan turns into him and now he's in Langdon's guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Langdon is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Dylan is aware though and is defending well.
Dylan trying to control the position from guard on top but Langdon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dylan is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Langdon is looking for a triangle but Dylan pushes his legs off easily.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Daniel Dylan wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Langdon dives in and grabs Dylan's left leg, looking for a takedown. Dylan pushes down on Langdon's head and hops out.
Dylan tries to bum rush Langdon with a series of wild strikes but Langdon uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Langdon shoots in looking for a takedown. Dylan tries to sprawl out of it but Langdon keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Dylan manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Daniel Dylan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Robert Langdon.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dylan lands a nice shot to the body.
Dylan walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Langdon checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Langdon fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Dylan displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Langdon.
Langdon gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Dylan counters with a nice low kick that buckles Langdon's knee momentarily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sloppy strikes from Dylan. Those never looked like landing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Robert Langdon dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Dylan throws a right and a left that both miss.
Langdon tries for a takedown but Dylan circles away easily
and Dylan counters with a left and a right that stings Langdon.
Langdon throws a lazy uppercut
and Dylan counters with a right hand to the body.
Dylan fails to land with a series of punches.
Dylan feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Langdons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Langdon looks to land a right hand but Dylan moved out of range.
Good exchange - Dylan coming out on top.
Langdon looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dylan is fending him off so far but Langdon persists. Nope, Dylan circles away and we're back to standing.

Daniel Dylan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Robert Langdon.

Dylan ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Dylan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Dylan lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Langdon throws a looping overhand right but Dylan ducks down to avoid it.

Langdon misses with a double jab.
Langdon shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Dylan defends it nicely.

and Dylan counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Dylan uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Langdon.
A decent looking cross lands there for Dylan.
Dylan throws a body punch but Langdon moves out of range.
Dylan connects with a solid leg kick.
Dylan fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Langdon manages to avoid it.
Langdon throws a jab when Dylan was well out of range.
Horrible takedown by Langdon or perhaps it was just good defense by Dylan which made him look bad.
Langdon is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A head kick misses from Langdon.
Langdon shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Dylan sprawls well. Dylan wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Langdon gets slowly back to his feet.
Dylan scores with a leg kick.
Dylan throws a nice inside leg kick.
Dylan throws a series of strikes that have Langdon backpedaling.


Langdon is rocked!
Dylan throws a powerful right kick. Langdon tried to block low but the kick was high! Langdon was taken right off of his feet! Dylan jumps in to finish the job and the ref tackles him! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Daniel Dylan!
Daniel Dylan is the new lightweight champion!
In his post fight interview, Daniel Dylan started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
