Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack Meadows (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sione Maalatai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Meadows!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sione Maalatai!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Bruno Hogan and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meadows shoots in but Maalatai avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Maalatai tries to score a power double leg takedown but Meadows sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Maalatai somewhat.
Meadows tries to sprawl but Maalatai drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Maalatai is controlling the pace.
Meadows is looking for a sweep. Maalatai is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Sione Maalatai has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Maalatai shoots in looking for a takedown. Meadows tries to sprawl out of it but Maalatai keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Meadows manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Maalatai fails with the takedown.
Jack Meadows has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sione Maalatai.
Meadows looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Meadows throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Maalatai was covering up waiting for the punch and Meadows finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Meadows won't allow Maalatai to get back to his feet.
Meadows drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Maalatai dives on top into guard.
Maalatai controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Meadows escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Maalatai gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Maalatai trying to control but Meadows is working from the bottom.
Meadows is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Maalatai is aware though and is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Meadows is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Maalatai defends well.
Meadows looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Meadows is breathing heavily.

Maalatai stays in close to Meadows's body and controls the position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Meadows bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Maalatai's guard.
Meadows trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Meadows throws a big right hand that misses.
Maalatai controls Meadows momentarily but Meadows frees himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sione Maalatai has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Meadows.
Maalatai clinches with his opponent.
Meadows is trying to drag Maalatai to the mat but Maalatai just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Maalatai lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Meadows is looking to control Maalatai's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Meadows avoid being mounted?
Maalatai thows an elbow strike that misses. Meadows gets hold of full guard and has managed to get a loose guillotine attempt. Maalatai doesn't seem too bothered but Meadows quickly shifts his position and has tightened the hold! Maalatai is in big trouble now - he's going a funny colour - he's tapping out! Nice finish there! Maalatai really should have spotted the danger earlier though... either incompetence or over-confidence has resulted in a big L on his record.
