Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jerry Lawson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hector Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jerry Lawson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Hector Williams! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Wagner Zegers and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lawson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Lawson sitting in guard, not really doing much. Williams is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Lawson is aware though and is defending well. Williams can't keep his opponent in guard - Lawson advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Lawson working Williams over with strikes. Lawson is working for a submission of some sort.
Lawson is figuring out what he wants to do next. Williams wants to improve his position but Lawson is controlling well.

Lawson shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Lawson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Williams has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lawson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Lawson wants to control from the top but Williams keeps moving. Williams working for submissions but it's allowed Lawson to get to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Williams is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Lawson gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Williams ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lawson moves away. Williams tries to keep at a distance but Lawson has taken the fight into the clinch. Williams trying to control the position but instead, Lawson has worked for underhooks and has pushed Williams into the cage. Lawson gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Williams is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Lawson works his way into full mount! Williams is trying desperately to improve position. Lawson controlling the position easily from mount. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Lawson landing shots from mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lawson fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Williams to the ground. Lawson is now in Williams's guard. Lawson stands and steps away. Williams gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Lawson rushes Williams and presses him up against the cage. Lawson gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Williams regains guard.
Williams had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Lawson defends it easily. Lawson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Williams, up you get! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Williams misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Lawson.

That's one minute gone in the round. Lawson closes the distance and clinches. Lawson turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Lawson tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Williams is looking for a sweep. Williams takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Williams tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Lawson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Lawson tries for a kimura but Williams is defending well. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! You can see the frustration on Williams's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. A lull in the action here. Lawson wants to control but Williams is keeping him busy. Jerry Lawson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Williams prevents Lawson from moving into mount.

Williams gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Williams wants to get back to full guard. Lawson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Williams sees it coming and defends easily. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Lawson postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Williams to stand up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lawson darts in and clinches Williams up against the cage. Lawson has picked Williams up - he's going for a ride! Lawson dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Williams trying to get back to full guard but Lawson takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Lawson lands a heavy elbow. Lawson lands a big elbow. Lawson looking to finish Williams with some ground and pound. This is bad for Williams! Lawson looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Williams tries to improve his position but instead Lawson has taken his back! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Lawson is working hard for the rear naked choke here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Williams struggling a bit here. Williams regains half guard. Williams regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Lawson. Williams throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Lawson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Williams has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lawson has managed to get both his arms back between Williams's legs - danger averted. Lawson sitting in guard here, content to control.
And that's the end of the fight! Jerry Lawson showed his dominance in that final round. Well Lawson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
