Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Darnell Witson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Meadows!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Steve Erwin and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meadows shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Witson defends it nicely.

Meadows throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Witson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Meadows is in Witson's guard.

Meadows thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Meadows postures up.
Meadows trying to control but Witson is working from the bottom.
Meadows is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Witson is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Darnell Witson wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Witson leaves Meadows with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Witson pushes Meadows up against the cage in a clinch.

Witson manages to break the clinch.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Witson.
Witson is looking to clinch.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Meadows.
Darnell Witson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Meadows.

Meadows closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Witson's guard.

Witson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Meadows thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Meadows is looking to stand up but Witson won't let him.

Witson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Meadows doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Meadows manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Meadows throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Witson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Meadows in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Meadows stopping the sweep attempt from Witson.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Meadows accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Witson keeping full guard, as Meadows tries to pass.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Meadowsis looking to pass into half guard but Witson pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Witson is in guard.

Meadows throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Witson escapes and throws Meadows's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Meadows struggling a bit here.

Witson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Meadows knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Witson is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Meadows has escaped the position, nice work there.

Witson trying to control the position but Meadows is working away.
Witson has knee on belly and moves into mount.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Meadows is trying desperately to improve position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Meadows rushes Witson and presses him up against the cage.

Witson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nice takedown defense from Witson. No joy for Meadows on that attempt.
Meadows is looking to clinch but Witson is avoiding it.
Witson fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Meadows shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Witson but Witson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Witson stuffs the takedown attempt from Meadows. Meadows gets slowly back to his feet.

Witson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Witson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Meadows is one step ahead there.
Meadows throws a big right hand that misses.
Meadows scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Meadows trying to control but Witson is working from the bottom.

Witson wants to sweep here but Meadows controlling him for the moment.
Meadows wants to control from the top but Witson keeps moving.

Meadows stands and steps away. Witson gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Witson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Meadows but Meadows pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Meadows shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Meadows postures up in Witson's guard and throws a big left but Witson blocks it.

Meadows stands up and waves to Witson to follow him.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Meadows is trying to control. Witson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Meadows is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Witson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Meadows.
Witson wants to get back to his feet.
Meadows working over Witson with some ground and pound. Witson looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Meadows wants to work for an arm triangle but Witson is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Meadows looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Meadows seems to be looking for submissions.
Witson moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Meadows throwing strikes but missing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Meadows in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Jack Meadows showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Witson changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Meadows fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Meadows shoots in looking for a takedown. Witson tries to sprawl out of it but Meadows keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Witson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Meadows lands with a nice body punch.
Witson is looking to clinch but Meadows is avoiding it.
Witson lands with a nice combination. Meadows backs away looking to recover.
Meadows keeps the fight on the outside.
Meadows fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Meadows shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Darnell Witson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Meadows drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Meadows jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Meadows is looking to take a break and control but Witson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
