PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Sieve (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chester Gates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Gates's choice of entrance music: 9 Piece. The key to victory for Tommy Sieve has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chester Gates!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gates shoots in looking for a takedown but Sieve manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gates's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Gates lands a nice leg kick that just misses Sieve's sensitive parts.
Sieve tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Gates was well out of range. Poor timing from Sieve.
Sieve is trying hard to land a takedown here. Gates sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Gates cracks Sieve with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Chester Gates hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Gates shoots in looking for a takedown. Sieve tries to sprawl out of it but Gates keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sieve manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Sieve shoots for a takedown but Gates saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Chester Gates seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Gates tries to score a power double leg takedown but Sieve sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gates somewhat.
