The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Beatyoass shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Beatyoass showed some decent athleticism there.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Beatyoass lands with a punch from half guard.
Beatyoass prevents Velasquez from standing back up.
Velasquez tries to get to full guard but Beatyoass has control of the leg.

Beatyoass seems to be looking for submissions.

Beatyoass is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Velasquez still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Velasquez has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
Beatyoass might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Beatyoass throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
Velasquez tries to advance to mount but Beatyoass denies him.

Beatyoass is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Beatyoass drops an elbow to the side of Velasquez's head.

Ima Beatyoass opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
