Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brent Celek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zak Maxwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Celek comes to the cage accompanied by 40 oz. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Celek lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Maxwell circles away quickly and effectively.
Celek lands a high kick!
Maxwell shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Celek throws a head kick that Maxwell semi-blocks.
Zak Maxwell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Maxwell looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Maxwell waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Celek.
Celek scores with a hook.
Celek lands a really nice looking cross but Maxwell seems unphased.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Celek throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Maxwell stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Maxwell throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Celek lands a big head kick that sends Maxwell to the canvas! Celek follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Brent Celek!
