Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Scott Zalesky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomas Pynchon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Scott Zalesky! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
27 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Thomas Pynchon! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Robert Twigg and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pynchon moves forwards but Zalesky connects with a nice, crisp jab.
It looks like Thomas Pynchon has been cut. Zalesky scores with a jab. Pynchon acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Zalesky punishes Pynchon's body with a nice straight punch. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Zalesky scores with a body shot.
Scott Zalesky seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pynchon looks gassed! A looping hook to the body misses from Zalesky. Pynchon does a little dance to reset his feet. The fighters circle momentarily. Zalesky darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Pynchon takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Zalesky fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Zalesky scores with a nice right hand.
That has opened up Thomas Pynchon's cut even more. Zalesky lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Pynchon up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Zalesky from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Pynchon's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Scott Zalesky!
