Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Evan D (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raje Malapitan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Evan D is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Evan D!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Raje Malapitan!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Robert Douchet and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
D stuffs the takedown attempt from Malapitan. Malapitan gets slowly back to his feet.
Malapitan fails to land the takedown.
D connects with a solid leg kick.
Malapitan looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? D is fending him off so far but Malapitan persists. Nope, D circles away and we're back to standing.
Evan D has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Raje Malapitan.

Malapitan throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. D was covering up waiting for the punch and Malapitan finishes the takedown easily into guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Malapitan trying to control but D is working from the bottom.
Malapitan is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Malapitan drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and D dives on top into guard.

D drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and D jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

D is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Malapitan is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Malapitan is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
D won't allow Malapitan to pass to mount.

Malapitan is sneakily working for an arm triangle but D sees it coming and defends easily.
Malapitan perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Malapitan is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, D has managed to free his arm - good work.

Malapitan looking to hit a scissor sweep but D is one step ahead there.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Malapitan wants to sweep here but D controlling him for the moment.

D slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Malapitan can do anything to dispel that myth.

D is looking to work some ground and pound but Malapitan has wrist control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Malapitan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


D lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Evan D is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
D stuffs the takedown attempt from Malapitan. Malapitan gets slowly back to his feet.
Malapitan closes this distance looking for a takedown but D circles away.

Malapitan fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging D to the ground. Malapitan is now in D's guard.

D utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Raje Malapitan has got the better of the ground game so far.
Malapitan is looking to work some ground and pound but D has wrist control.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Malapitan accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Malapitan sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed D's guard.
Malapitan wants to lay and pray for a moment but D keeps working.
Malapitan throwing shots but D is blocking nicely.

Malapitan throws a strike but D avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Malapitan trying to control but D is working from the bottom.

D had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Malapitan defends it easily.
Malapitan stays in close to D's body and controls the position.
D keeping moving, preventing Malapitan from controlling successfully.
D will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Malapitan is looking to work some ground and pound but D has wrist control.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Malapitan looking to sit in guard and control but D gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Malapitan wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Raje Malapitan.
A head kick misses from D.
D throws a right and a left that both miss.
D swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Malapitan counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in D's guard now.

Malapitan lands strikes from half guard.
Malapitan thows a huge punch but D dodges it nicely.

Malapitan is looking for a kimura here.
This has been an exciting period of action!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Raje Malapitan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

D makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Malapitan is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
D throws a big right hand that misses.
Malapitan wants to sweep but no luck.
Malapitan manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Malapitan throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for D because Malapitan loaded up on that one.

D is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Malapitan throws a strike but D rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

D pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Malapitan is keeping the position for now.
Evan D has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
