Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Juri Boyka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mark Hunt!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boyka tries to clinch but Hunt moves out of range.

Hunt is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Boyka's half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Ground and pound from Hunt.
Hunt drops an elbow to the side of Boyka's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boyka wants to get back to full guard.
Hunt controlling the action here.

Boyka kicks off Hunt and gets to his feet.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Hunt.
Boyka really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Hunt decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Boyka wants to control but Hunt is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Hunt has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Hunt seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hunt can do anything to dispel that myth.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Hunt holds of for dear life.

Boyka throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Hunt tries to hold on but Boyka pushes him away.
Boyka blocks Hunt's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.

Boyka breaks from Hunt's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Hunt is desperately trying to improve his position but Boyka has a good base and remains in mount.
Hunt tries to hold on but Boyka pushes him away.
Boyka prevents Hunt from getting the reversal.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hunt is looking to improve his position but Boyka isn't that keen on the idea.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Hunt looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Boyka is looking for a sweep. Hunt is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Hunt moves nicely into side control.
You can see the frustration on Boyka's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Hunt is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Boyka will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Boyka is looking to reverse the position.
Boyka takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Hunt tries to advance to mount but can't.

Hunt in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Hunt slips into full mount, dodging the strikes by Boyka.

Hunt is working for a guillotine from mount but Boyka frees his head quite easily.

Boyka is looking to get to half guard.
Hunt takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Let's hope that Hunt has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Boyka tries to lock up and control but Hunt gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

BOOM! Hunt connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Hunt breaks from Boyka's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Boyka is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hunt is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Boyka is surviving well by controlling Hunt's body position as best he can.
Hunt manages to capitalize on a mistake by Boyka to take his back!

Boyka is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hunt lands punches and elbows.

Boyka is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Mark Hunt has got the better of the ground game so far.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Hunt is looking for the choke from the back position but Boyka is controlling his hands well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Hunt showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Boyka changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hunt looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Hunt tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Hunt looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Boyka pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hunt is keeping the position for now.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Hunt has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Hunt has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Boyka can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Hunt looking for a sweep. Not yet Hunt, not yet.

Hunt is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Boyka has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Hunt is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Boyka is defended easily by Hunt.
Hunt looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Boyka is fending him off so far but Hunt persists. Nope, Boyka circles away and we're back to standing.

Hunt moves into the clinch.
Hunt fails to pull guard.
Boyka is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Hunt pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Boyka is looking to take this one to the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Juri Boyka. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hunt has Boyka pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Boyka manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Hunt has hold of one of Boyka's legs. Boyka is fighting the takedown attempt but Hunt gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Boyka is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hunt stands up and waves to Boyka to follow him.

Mark Hunt comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hunt has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
