Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kimbo Assis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Guy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Assis comes to the ring accompanied by Falling Slowly. Kimbo Assis has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Kimbo Assis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Matt Guy! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yuuki Gou and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Guy misses with a body shot.
Assis walks into a stiff left hand from Guy. Assis gets a double leg takedown into Guy's guard. Assis throwing strikes from guard but Guy blocks nicely. Assis postures up in Guy's guard and throws a big left but Guy blocks it. Guy is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Assis is controlling him. Assis trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Assis in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Guy seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Guy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Assis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Guy looking for a sweep. Not yet Guy, not yet. Assis trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Assis keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Guy's head. This has been an exciting period of action! Assis loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Guy is controlling Assis's posture.
That's one minute gone in the round. Guy has his feet on Assis's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Guy stuffs the takedown attempt from Assis. Assis gets slowly back to his feet. Assis shoots in looking for a takedown. Guy tries to sprawl out of it but Assis keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Guy manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Assis wants to clinch. Nice uppercut lands for Guy. That snapped Assis's head back.
Guy lands a nice hook to Assis's body. Assis takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. A left and a right from Guy both land. Nice combination. Matt Guy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Guy bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Assis throws the left hand but Guy avoids the punch easily. Assis looks for a takedown but Guy sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kimbo Assis. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Guy misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Assis.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Assis. Guy connects with a looping right hand.
Guy throws a right and a left that Assis avoids nicely. A shot to the liver by Guy. Beautiful body shot. Nice straight punches there by Guy. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Guy. Guy lands a jab to Assis's midsection. Assis fails in his attempt to clinch. A punch combination from Guy misses. Guy tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Assis was well out of range. Poor timing from Guy. Assis tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Guy swivels and escapes. Guy throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Assis looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Assis walks into a left hand. Guy dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Guy lands with a straight right. Assis didn't see that one coming. Guy bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Assis's head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Assis is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Guy's half guard. Assis is looking for a kimura but Guy is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Assis to get the leverage. Guy is defending against the submission attempts here by Assis.
Guy is positioning himself well to prevent Assis advancing to mount. Guy wants to get back to full guard. Assis thows a huge punch but Guy dodges it nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Guy wants to improve his position but Assis is controlling well.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Guy can do anything to dispel that myth. Guy is trying to stand.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Guy avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Assis. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Guy keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Guy is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Assis thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Guy's head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matt Guy dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Guy misses with a wild body shot. Guy lands a jab to the head.
Assis changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Guy looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Guy tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Assis wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Assis misses with the ground and pound. Assis creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Guy sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Assis is trying to get an arm triangle but Guy is defending well. Assis thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Guy tries to bench press Assis off him but Assis keeps the position. Assis working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Assis throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Kimbo Assis overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Guy tries to escape but Assis is in control. Assis wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Guy, who protects the arm well. Assis throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Guy works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Guy is controlling Assis's trapped leg to prevent Assis from advancing to side control. Assis is trying to work for a kimura but Guy is defending well.
Guy slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Assis loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Assis throws a big right hand that misses. Assis throws a big elbow that misses. Assis working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Assis avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Assis throwing strikes but missing. Assis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Assis is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Guy is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Guy has escaped and now he's on top! Guy trying to control but Assis is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Guy is looking to stand up but Assis won't let him. Assis is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Assis avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Guy is looking to stand up but Assis won't let him. Assis looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Guy throws a big elbow that misses. Guy with a flurry of punches that miss. Guy keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Assis's head. Assis throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

Guy throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Guy must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Guy wants to pass the guard but Assis is keeping the position. Assis manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Assis is in the full mount, landing strikes. Assis looking to finish Guy with some ground and pound. This is bad for Guy! Guy avoids a series of strikes thrown by Assis.
Assis throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Assis working for a guillotine from mount but Guy is in no mood to give up. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Guy wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Assis.

Kimbo Assis dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Guy ducks down and throws a hook to the body. A jab lands there for Guy. Guy misses with a few strikes there.
Assis tries for a takedown but Guy sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Assis fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Guy avoids it really well and circles away. Assis shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Guy as he jumps to the side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kimbo Assis. That's going to take a lot out of him. Assis tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Guy paws at him with a jab and circles away. Guy fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Guy cracks a nice hook into Assis's ribs. Guy is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Guy lunges at Assis with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Assis's hand. Guy lands a body shot.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Guy's jab looks to have found its range, popping Assis under the eye. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Assis shoots in for a takedown but Guy shows good takedown defense. Guy goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
That's one minute gone in the round. Assis takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Assis moves forwards but Guy connects with a nice, crisp jab. Nice takedown defense from Guy. No joy for Assis on that attempt. Assis takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Assis shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Guy as he avoids it easily. Guy cracks Assis with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Matt Guy seems to be getting the better of the standup. Assis fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Guy cracks a nice hook into Assis's ribs. Guy fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Guy throws out a powerful jab. A jab lands there for Guy. Guy digs a good hook to Assis's body.
Assis takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Assis takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Guy connects with a body shot that sends Assis's belly button to the back. Nice uppercut there from Guy. Guy throws out a powerful jab. Guy throws a combination. Assis tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Guy avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

A punch lands to the side of Assis 's head but he takes it in his stride. Assis throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Guy's waist but Guy gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Assis off to one side. Guy lands a nice shot to the body.

Assis shoots in for a takedown but Guy shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Guy throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Assis stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. A jab from Guy does it's job there. Assis takes a shot right to the bread basket.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Guy throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Guy bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Guy lands a nice hook to Assis's body. Assis takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Guy lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Guy uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. A looping hook to the body misses from Guy. Assis does a little dance to reset his feet. Guy jabs Assis right on the nose. Assis blinks but takes it well. Guy scores with a jab to the head.
Guy lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Assis at a distance.

Assis shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Guy defends it nicely. Assis fails with the takedown. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Guy wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

And that's the end of the fight! Matt Guy comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Guy has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
