Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Craig Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Piscopo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anderson comes to the cage accompanied by The High Road. Piscopo has chosen He's Carl Lewis as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Craig Anderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joe Piscopo!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Trevor Gratis and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Piscopo closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Anderson to the mat! Anderson manages to get full guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Piscopo trying to control the position from guard on top but Anderson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Piscopo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Piscopo tries to free his leg and advance position but Anderson is retaining full guard.

Piscopo is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Piscopo missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Piscopo seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Piscopo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Anderson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Piscopo scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Piscopo postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Piscopo trying to control the position from guard on top but Anderson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Anderson can't keep his opponent in guard - Piscopo advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Piscopo tries to pass the half guard into mount. Anderson knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Anderson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Piscopo's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Piscopo's back!
I really don't envy Piscopo right now.
Piscopo has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.

Piscopo turns into Anderson and is now in his guard.
Piscopois looking to pass into half guard but Anderson pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Anderson is in guard.

Anderson is fighting to break Piscopo's control of his arms but Piscopo is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Anderson wants to pass the guard but Piscopo is keeping the position.
Piscopo is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Craig Anderson.
Piscopo swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Anderson throws a big shot that misses.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Piscopo throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Piscopo drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Anderson tries a head kick but it misses.
Anderson looks for a takedown but Piscopo sprawls well.
Piscopo throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Anderson stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Piscopo jabs Anderson right on the nose. Anderson blinks but takes it well.
Anderson throws the left hand but Piscopo avoids the punch easily.
Piscopo throws a one two combo.

Piscopo trying to control but Anderson is having none of it.
Piscopo throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.

Piscopo goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Anderson turns into him and now he's in Piscopo's guard.
Piscopo seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Anderson wants to control from the top but Piscopo keeps moving.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Piscopo is on top in guard.
Piscopo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Anderson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Piscopo loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Piscopo forces his way into half guard.

Piscopo seems to be looking for submissions.

Piscopo thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Anderson's head.

Piscopo seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Anderson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Anderson is refusing to be controlled, as Piscopo sits in half guard.

Joe Piscopo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Anderson is trying to drag Piscopo to the mat but Piscopo just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Piscopo has Anderson pressed against the cage, preventing Anderson from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Piscopo ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Piscopo no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Piscopo has his hands clasped together around Anderson's back. He's all about the action.

Anderson is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Piscopo is controlling Anderson's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Piscopo is pressing down on Anderson's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Piscopo is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Joe Piscopo wasn't active enough on the ground.

Piscopo closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Anderson's guard.

Anderson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Piscopo controls the pace.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Piscopo shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Anderson is trying to defend but Piscopo finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Well Piscopo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
