Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Spandex Rex (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lyov Kirijenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Spandex Rex!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Lyov Kirijenko!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, William Gold and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kirijenko shoots in for a double leg but Rex sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Rex stuffs the takedown attempt from Kirijenko. Kirijenko gets slowly back to his feet.
Rex bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Kirijenko's head backwards.
Kirijenko misses with a takedown attempt - Rex sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Spandex Rex has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lyov Kirijenko.
Kirijenko lunges at Rex with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Rex's hand.
Kirijenko throws a leg kick but Rex sees it coming and moves out of range.
Some wild striking there from Rex.
Rex moves out of range of the strikes.

Kirijenko misses with an attempted mid kick.
Kirijenko bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Kirijenko shoots for a takedown but Rex saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Rex misses with a body shot.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Rex tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kirijenko paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Kirijenko throws a leg kick that misses.
Rex lands a nice hook to Kirijenko's body. Kirijenko takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Kirijenko ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kirijenko takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Kirijenko shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Rex is trying to defend but Kirijenko finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Rex tries to roll over but Kirijenko keeps him under control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rex trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Kirijenko manages to pass to mount!
Rex sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Rex is looking for a triangle but Kirijenko pushes his legs off easily.
Kirijenko won't allow Rex to sweep him here.
Kirijenko wants to control from the top but Rex keeps moving.
Kirijenko throwing strikes from guard but Rex blocks nicely.
Rex manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Rex misses with a head shot.
Rex breaks from Kirijenko's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Kirijenko is trying desperately to improve position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kirijenko wants to hold on but Rex pushes him away.

Rex throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Kirijenko bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rex wants to sweep but no luck.

Kirijenko trying to control but Rex is working from the bottom.
Kirijenko must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Rex has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Kirijenko is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Rex.
Kirijenko lands a nice forearm strike.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kirijenko wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rex keeps working.
Rex tries to bench press Kirijenko off him but Kirijenko keeps the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Spandex Rex dominated that round.

A left lands for Rex.
Kirijenko throws a low kick but Rex moves out of range easily.
Rex looks to throw the jab but Kirijenko is out of range.
Rex avoids the body shot from Kirijenko.
The fighters circling - Rex throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Rex has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Rex there as he acknowledges the shot.
Good exchange - Kirijenko coming out on top.
Lyov Kirijenko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sloppy strikes from Rex. Those never looked like landing.
Rex tries to close the distance and clinch but Kirijenko swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Kirijenko walks into a stiff left hand from Rex.
Rex looks to throw the jab but Kirijenko is out of range.
Rex uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Rex throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kirijenko.
Rex misses with a body punch

and Kirijenko counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kirijenko is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

Kirijenko is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Rex is looking for a triangle but Kirijenko pushes his legs off easily.

Rex is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Rex bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kirijenko's guard.
Rex in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Kirijenko is trying to control the position but Rex postures up.
Rex makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Kirijenko bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rex's guard.

Rex has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kirijenko can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Rex is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rex is looking for a sweep. Kirijenko is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Rex is staying active underneath Kirijenko, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Kirijenko prevents Rex from improving his position.

Rex moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Kirijenko pushing down on Rex's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Kirijenko wants to take a breather but Rex is having none of it.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Spandex Rex will probably get the nod.
That's time! Rex's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!


Rex swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Kirijenko counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Rex misses the shot to the body.
Spandex Rex is winning the standup battle so far.
Rex slips under a jab from Kirijenko.

Rex shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Kirijenko is desperately trying to improve his position but Rex has a good base and remains in mount.
Spandex Rex overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Rex is landing with some decent strikes but Kirijenko is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Rex connects with a couple of good shots from mount.


Kirijenko is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rex avoids the attempt from Kirijenko to control.
Kirijenko is still in real trouble! Can Rex finish him?
Rex connects with a bit shot that sees Kirijenko covering up! More strikes from Rex and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Rex is our winner by TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Spandex Rex!
