Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, David Morgan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Carlos Da Guia! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Paul Tew and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Morgan circles away from the clinch attempt and Morgan counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Morgan throws a nice looking combination but Da Guia bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Da Guia tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Morgan tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Da Guia manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Morgan throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Da Guia's waist but Da Guia gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Morgan off to one side. Morgan tries to score a power double leg takedown but Da Guia sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Morgan somewhat. Da Guia doesn't manage to clinch there - Morgan circles away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Da Guia looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Morgan drives through and clinches with Da Guia against the cage.

Da Guia throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Morgan blocks it with crossed arms. Da Guia just leaning against Morgan, taking a breather. Morgan tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

That's one minute gone in the round. Morgan tries to pull guard but Da Guia holds him up against the cage and eventually Morgan drops back down to his feet.

Morgan jumps guard but Da Guia turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Morgan tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Da Guia just stands there and leans against the cage. Da Guia tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Da Guia manages to break the clinch.
Da Guia swats away the attempt to clinch by Morgan. Da Guia tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Morgan paws at him with a jab and circles away. Morgan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Da Guia tries to avoid it but Morgan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Da Guia to the ground. Da Guia escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Morgan shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Da Guia pinned against the cage. Da Guia gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Morgan keeps the fight on the outside.

Da Guia tries to clinch up and Morgan counters with a head kick. Carlos Da Guia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Da Guia drives through and clinches with Morgan against the cage.

Morgan shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Da Guia manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Da Guia is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Morgan stands and throws Da Guia's legs to the side, diving into side control. Morgan creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Da Guia sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Morgan wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Da Guia, who protects the arm well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Morgan is trying to get an arm triangle but Da Guia is defending well. Morgan is looking to take a break and control but Da Guia is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Morgan thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Da Guia can do anything to dispel that myth. Da Guia managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Morgan.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Morgan thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Morgan misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Morgan goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Da Guia has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Morgan but great work by Da Guia. Morgan is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Da Guia is one step ahead and moves to full mount! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Morgan is looking to improve his position but Da Guia isn't that keen on the idea. Morgan tries to hold on but Da Guia pushes him away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Da Guia rushes Morgan and presses him up against the cage. Morgan is trying to pull guard but Da Guia has him pressed against the cage. Da Guia connects with a knee to the head.
Da Guia breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. The fight stays on the outside here - Da Guia looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Da Guia has taken the fight to the clinch.

Da Guia must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Morgan striking off his back but it's not causing Da Guia any problems. Morgan wants to sweep but no luck. Morgan has his foot on Da Guia's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Da Guia works his way back into a safe position though. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Da Guia can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Morgan tries to land a sweep but no joy. And that's the end of the fight! David Morgan showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Morgan, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
