Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brandon Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jary Bazu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bazu is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Round and Round. Jary Bazu is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Brandon Thomas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 14 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jary Bazu! The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Igor Prikhodko and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thomas swinging wildly here.
Thomas shoots in and gets a takedown into Bazu's guard. Bazu working for a triangle but Thomas defends it easily.
Thomas controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Bazu wants to sweep here but Thomas controlling him for the moment. Bazu trying to keep a closed guard but Thomas is proving a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bazu working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Thomas doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Thomas manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Thomas gets to his feet - Bazu follows without any prompting.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thomas misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Thomas moves into the clinch successfully.
Thomas has had enough of the clinch but Bazu keeps him there for the moment. Thomas prevents the takedown attempt.
Bazu lands a body shot in the clinch.

Thomas stalls. Thomas escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bazu tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. A momentary lapse in concentration from Bazu enables Thomas to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Bazu manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Thomas trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Thomas looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Brandon Thomas just wasn't active enough. Thomas looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Thomas tries to free his leg and advance position but Bazu is retaining full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bazu wants to stand but Thomas is controlling the position. Thomas scoring with some ground and pound. Thomas is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Bazu is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Bazu has escaped and now he's on top! Thomas is adopting a defensive guard. Bazu pushing down on Thomas's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Thomas is looking to escape.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Thomas makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! The fight moves into the clinch position. Thomas is pushing Bazu up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Thomas is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Bazu is defending well. Thomas's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bazu shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Thomas counters by clinching up. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Thomas is pressed up against the cage. Bazu has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Thomas down to the mat. Thomas avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brandon Thomas dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Thomas dives in and scores a takedown into Bazu's guard. Thomas seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Thomas working some strikes from top position. Thomas is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

That's one minute gone in the round. Thomas clinches. Thomas works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Thomas gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Thomas shoots in but Bazu avoids the takedown attempt easily. Bazu doesn't succeed with the takedown and Thomas counters with a straight right hand. Bazu tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Thomas swats away the attempt to clinch by Bazu. Thomas manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Bazu on his heels. He'll look to pass Bazu's guard now, I'm sure. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Thomas gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Bazu moves into the clinch. Bazu looking for a takedown.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Thomas is trying to break free. Bazu drops down looking for an ankle pick but Thomas pulls his leg out and moves away.
Brandon Thomas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jary Bazu. Thomas feints and as Bazu raises his hands in defense, Thomas changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Thomas looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Thomas gets to his feet. Bazu looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Thomas closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Bazu's guard. Thomas drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Thomas jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Thomas lands a couple of elbows. Thomas sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Bazu's guard. Thomas not doing much here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Thomas stands up out of the half guard. Thomas fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Bazu to the ground. Thomas is now in Bazu's guard. Thomas is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Thomas postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Thomas shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Brandon Thomas overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Bazu shoots in for a takedown but Thomas shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Thomas is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Bazu can do to turn this around? Bazu takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Bazu looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Thomas has closed the distance and engaged Bazu in a clinch.
Thomas wants the takedown. Bazu is fighting it off but Thomas persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Bazu's guard against the cage. Thomas stands up over Bazu, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Bazu is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Thomas advances position into side control!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Thomas scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Bazu to see if he's OK. Thomas taking a breather here. Thomas has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Jary Bazu has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Thomas decides to take the fight back to the feet. Thomas throws a series of punches but Bazu avoids them all with ease.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bazu plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Thomas throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Bazu tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Thomas is in Bazu's guard. Thomas stands and steps away. Bazu gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Thomas showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Bazu.
Thomas closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Thomas decides to pull guard. Thomas has his hands on Bazu's head, controlling the position. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bazu accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
And that's the end of the fight! Brandon Thomas showed his dominance in that final round. Well Thomas has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
