Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Carlos Da Guia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Bryan Parinias!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Andrew Berry and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parinias keeps the fight on the outside.
Parinias shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Da Guia but Da Guia pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Parinias keeps the fight on the outside.
Da Guia moves in looking to clinch but Parinias pushes him off.
Da Guia tries to clinch there but Parinias circles away.
Parinias keeps the fight on the outside.
Da Guia is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Da Guia closes the distance and pushes Parinias back into the cage.
Parinias jumps guard but Da Guia turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Da Guia prevents the takedown attempt.
Carlos Da Guia has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bryan Parinias.

Da Guia breaks from the clinch.

Parinias gets tackled into the cage by Da Guia. Da Guia maintains the clinch.
Parinias goes for a takedown attempt but Da Guia pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Da Guia tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Da Guia using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Parinias has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Da Guia breaks from the clinch.
Parinias shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Da Guia as he jumps to the side.
Da Guia tries to close the distance and clinch up but Parinias swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Da Guia is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Horrible takedown by Parinias or perhaps it was just good defense by Da Guia which made him look bad.
Parinias swats away the attempt to clinch by Da Guia.

The fight stays on the outside here - Da Guia looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Da Guia is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Parinias circles away from the clinch attempt.
Parinias tries for a takedown but Da Guia sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Parinias avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Parinias throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Da Guia's waist but Da Guia gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Parinias off to one side.

and Parinias counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Parinias.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Da Guia is looking to stand up but Parinias isn't so interested in that idea.
Parinias wants to control from the top but Da Guia keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Parinias slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Da Guia is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Parinias has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Parinias wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Da Guia, who protects the arm well.
Da Guia tries to buck Parinias off but Parinias is having none of it.

Parinias tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Parinias trying to control the position but Da Guia is working away.

Parinias goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Da Guia rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Parinias's guard! Nice work there by Da Guia!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Parinias has his foot on Da Guia's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Da Guia works his way back into a safe position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Carlos Da Guia will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Parinias fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Da Guia avoids it really well and circles away.
Carlos Da Guia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Da Guia tries to clinch but Parinias moves out of range.

Nice takedown defense from Da Guia. No joy for Parinias on that attempt.

Da Guia wants to get back to his feet but Parinias is dominant here and he's now got Da Guia's back!

Parinias is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Da Guia has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Parinias is looking for a choke. Da Guia gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Da Guia manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.
Parinias lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Da Guia!

Parinias wants to finish this one by submission but Da Guia is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Parinias.

Parinias swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Da Guia is now in Parinias's guard. A big mistake from Parinias there, giving up the dominant position!
Bryan Parinias has got the better of the ground game so far.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Parinias controls Da Guia momentarily but Da Guia frees himself.

Parinias is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Parinias wants to sweep but no luck.
Da Guia has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Parinias is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Da Guia rolls with it to try and escape but Parinias cranks on the arm and Da Guia is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
