PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jorge Dennis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yorito Nayama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dennis kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Bark at the moon. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jorge Dennis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yorito Nayama!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Nayama. Dennis does a little dance to reset his feet.
Dennis with a poor takedown
and Nayama counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Dennis fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Nayama manages to avoid it.
Nayama misses with an uppercut.

Nayama closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Dennis wants to control but Nayama postures up.

Nayama thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Dennis is looking to regain half guard here but Nayama keeps moving and retains side control.
Nayama remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Jorge Dennis decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
