Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kelsey Curtis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John The Butcher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kelsey Curtis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John The Butcher! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Hugh Johnson and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The Butcher misses with a wild combination.
Curtis scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The Butcher tries to improve position but can't. Curtis thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Curtis creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Curtis working away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The Butcher takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The Butcher won't allow Curtis to sweep him here. The Butcher drops back for a leg! No, Curtis has managed to get both his arms back between The Butcher's legs - danger averted. This has been an exciting period of action! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Curtis passes The Butcher's left leg - he's now in half guard. Curtis tries to pass to full mount but The Butcher defends it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kelsey Curtis dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

The Butcher throws a right hand that Curtis ducks under and follows up with a left that Curtis also avoids with ease. Curtis shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. The Butcher manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. The Butcher looking to control.

He'll be looking to tighten that up but Curtis can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Curtis scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Curtis in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Kelsey Curtis overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. The Butcher is trying to control the position but Curtis postures up. Curtis landing some decent shots from guard. The Butcher had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Curtis defends it easily.
