Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jamie Lanastar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Canelo Castillo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jamie Lanastar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Canelo Castillo! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Roger Salmon and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Castillo shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lanastar sprawls well. Lanastar wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Castillo gets slowly back to his feet. Castillo shoots in looking for a takedown. Lanastar tries to sprawl out of it but Castillo keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lanastar manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Castillo misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Lanastar tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Castillo counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Lanastar wants to stand up but Castillo is controlling him. Castillo throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Lanastar on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lanastar tries to get out of the position. Castillo cracks Lanastar with a solid left hand. Castillo prevents Lanastar from getting back to his feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Castillo postures up in Lanastar's guard and throws a big left but Lanastar blocks it. Castillo is in close to Lanastar's body, working some short punches and elbows.
That's one minute gone in the round. Castillo working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Lanastar is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Castillo is controlling him. Castillo postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Castillo is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Castillo lands a couple of digs. Lanastar preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Castillo looking to pass the guard. Castillo loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Castillo throwing strikes but missing. Castillo is in close to Lanastar's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Lanastar wants to stand and escape but Castillo is having none of it. Castillo scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Castillo landing some decent shots from guard. Castillo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Castillo throwing strikes from guard but Lanastar blocks nicely. Lanastar wants to get back to his feet but Castillo is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Castillo scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Castillo loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Lanastar avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Castillo stops Lanastar from standing up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Castillo with a nice head shot there. Castillo postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Castillo makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Castillo drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Castillo as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Lanastar screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Castillo! Nice submission victory there!
