Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between James Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shawn Michaels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Michaels is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Sexy Boy. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Shawn Michaels enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Jackson!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shawn Michaels!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Stewart Dunkirk and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Michaels throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jackson's waist but Jackson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Michaels off to one side.
Jackson looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
No luck for Michaels with that takedown attempt.

Michaels decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Michaels escapes and gets back to his feet.

Jackson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Michaels pushes Jackson away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Jackson gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Michaels is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Michaels regains half guard, as Jackson was trying to land strikes.

Michaels manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Michaels looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jackson is fending him off so far but Michaels persists. Nope, Jackson circles away and we're back to standing.
James Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shawn Michaels.

Michaels decides to stand up, so the ref orders Jackson to his feet.

Jackson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Michaels on the ground.

Michaels postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Jackson to stand up.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Michaels fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Michaels is trying hard to land a takedown here. Jackson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Jackson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Michaels shoots in for a double leg but Jackson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Jackson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jackson wants it to stay on the feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Michaels tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jackson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Michaels somewhat.
Horrible takedown by Jackson or perhaps it was just good defense by Michaels which made him look bad.
