Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Linh Munn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sub Position (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Munn's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, UFC Motivation. Linh Munn is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Linh Munn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sub Position!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Roger Salmon and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Position looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Munn manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Position manages to get himself to full guard.
Position keeping full guard, as Munn tries to pass.
Position pulls Munn in to control the position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Munn accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Munn might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Munn distracts Position with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Munn looking to sit in guard and control but Position gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Position trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Munn not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Munn got a little sloppy there for a moment and Position has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Munn has managed to get both his arms back between Position's legs - danger averted.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Munn tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Position paws at him with a jab and circles away.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Munn goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.


It looks like Sub Position has been cut.
Linh Munn is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

so Position counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Position trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Position stops Munn from standing up.
Munn is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Munn wants to get back to his feet.
Munn seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Position does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Munn is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Position is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Position has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Munn can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Munn scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Munn wants to clinch up but Position keeps it at a distance.
Position shoots for a double leg takedown but Munn sprawls well. He's pushed Position's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Munn feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Position has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Munn is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Linh Munn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sub Position.

Position takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Position goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Munn is on top in guard.

Munn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Position swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Position utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Munn wants to control from the top but Position keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Linh Munn.
Horrible takedown by Munn or perhaps it was just good defense by Position which made him look bad.
Munn throws a right hand that Position ducks under and follows up with a left that Position also avoids with ease.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That was a close round but Linh Munn did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it.

and Position counters with a nice double leg into side control. Munn won't be happy with that.
You can see the frustration on Munn's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Position wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Munn, who protects the arm well.

Position is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Munn is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Position wants to lay and pray for a moment but Munn keeps working.

Position is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Munn is looking for a sweep. Position is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Position is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Munn sees it coming and defends easily.

Position is working for a kimura but Munn is defending it quite comfortably.
Position is absolutely dripping with sweat - he looks exhausted.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Position moves nicely into side control.

Position goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Munn has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Position but great work by Munn.

Munn is looking to take a break and control but Position is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Munn looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Position is fending him off so far but Munn persists. Nope, Position circles away and we're back to standing.

Linh Munn decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
