Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jeo Warren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matteus Saarinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jeo Warren!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matteus Saarinen!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saarinen tries for a takedown but Warren circles away easily

and Warren counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Saarinen looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Warren seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Warren takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Warren jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Saarinen manages to avoid the submission attempt.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Saarinen enables Warren to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Saarinen manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Warren slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Warren with shots to the head and body - Saarinen looks very uncomfortable down there.
Saarinen is trying to reverse the position but instead Warren has taken his back - oops!

Warren scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Saarinen is looking for a way out.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Saarinen is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Warren rushes Saarinen and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Warren wants the takedown. Saarinen is fighting it off but Warren persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Saarinen's guard against the cage.

Warren postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Warren tries to free his leg and advance position but Saarinen is retaining full guard.
Saarinen is looking to stand back up but Warren counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Saarinen.

Saarinen is breathing heavily.

Warren stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Warren looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Well, if Warren is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Jeo Warren overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Warren wants to pass to mount but Saarinen is defending the position.

Warren fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Saarinen sprawls well initially but Warren persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Warren decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Sloppy strikes from Warren. Those never looked like landing.

Warren changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Saarinen looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jeo Warren has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Warren.

Warren is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Warren successfully pulls guard.
Warren knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Saarinen on the ground.

Saarinen wants to control from the top but Warren keeps moving.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Warren holds on and takes a little breather.

That's time! Warren's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



Warren manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Saarinen on his heels. He'll look to pass Saarinen's guard now, I'm sure.

Warren has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

We're going to have a standup here because Jeo Warren wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Saarinen takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Saarinen takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Warren throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Saarinen is still on wobbly legs! Can Warren finish him?

A head kick by Warren - that's a beauty! Saarinen is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Warren can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!
