Kelly's entrance music is Black Belt Jones Theme Song, you Jive Turkey!. A fine choice. Proudstar is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: "Run to the hills" by Iron Maiden . James Proudstar has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jim Kelly's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jim Kelly!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Proudstar!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Gwen Towbar and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Proudstar throws a leg kick but Kelly sees it coming and moves out of range.
Proudstar motions for Kelly to come forward. Proudstar throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Proudstar just misses with a punch to the body.
Kelly will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Kelly jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Kelly uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Proudstar.
Kelly misses with a shot to the body
and Proudstar counters with a stiff right hand.


It looks like Jim Kelly has been cut.
Proudstar scores with the left hand. Kelly knows he should have avoided that one.
Proudstar is looking to clinch but Kelly is avoiding it.

Kelly gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Proudstar to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kelly is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Proudstar passes Kelly's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Proudstar working the head and body with strikes.

Kelly is defending against the submission attempts here by Proudstar.
Proudstar looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Proudstar sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Kelly defending well though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Proudstar takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Proudstar frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Proudstar swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Kelly is now in Proudstar's guard. A big mistake from Proudstar there, giving up the dominant position!
Kelly knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Proudstar on the ground.
Kelly being controlled here momentarily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kelly won't allow Proudstar to sweep him here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Proudstar pulls Kelly in to control the position.
Kelly might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Jim Kelly has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Proudstar throws a right hand that Kelly ducks under and follows up with a left that Kelly also avoids with ease.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kelly throws a wild body kick that Proudstar sees coming a mile off.
Proudstar shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Proudstar is looking to clinch.
Kelly bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Kelly uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Proudstar.
Jim Kelly is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Kelly swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Proudstar.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Proudstar uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kelly.
Kelly dips to his left and cracks Proudstar with an uppercut!
Kelly buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Kelly checks the leg kick nicely there.
Kelly throws a body punch but Proudstar moves out of range.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kelly looks for the body kick but Proudstar saw that one coming.
Kelly throws a one two combo.
Proudstar closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.


Proudstar is rocked!
Both fighters circling a little - Kelly finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Proudstar is still on wobbly legs! Can Kelly finish him?
Proudstar looks gassed!
Kelly drops a shoulder and throws a monster hook that connects perfectly to the side of Proudstar's head, knocking him out cold! Kelly is extatic as he celebrates with his cornermen.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jim Kelly!
A very excited looking Jim Kelly rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
