Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between TJ Styles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonesey Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Styles's entrance music is Underground Kings. A fine choice. TJ Styles has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, TJ Styles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jonesey Walker!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Ryoma Takatsuka and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walker waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Styles.
Walker cracks Styles with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Styles tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Walker was well out of range. Poor timing from Styles.

Walker feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Styles sprawling to the canvas! Styles rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Walker finish him?!


Styles is rocked!


It looks like TJ Styles has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A telegraphed right hand from Walker misses the target.
Oh Styles is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Styles closes the distance and pushes Walker back into the cage.

Styles pulls guard effortlessly.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Styles has a closed guard, preventing Walker from standing up.
Styles seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Styles seems to have got his legs back now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

and Styles counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Walker has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Styles can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Styles wants to pass the guard but Walker is keeping the position.
Styles stands up over Walker, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

and Styles decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Walker's guard.
Styles really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Walker working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Styles doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Styles manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Styles is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Walker is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

TJ Styles has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Walker lands with an uppercut that bounces Styles off the cage and back into range.

Styles closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Walker's guard.
TJ Styles overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Styles gets to his feet. Walker looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Walker will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Walker might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Walker, as that shot connected.

Walker throws out a loose jab but Styles uses good head movement to avoid it.
Walker ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Styles moves away.
TJ Styles is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Styles needs to keep his hands up - Walker had a free shot at his head there.

and Styles counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Styles.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jonesey Walker hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Walker drops back, looking for a kneebar! Styles looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Styles looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Styles!

Styles takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Walker is refusing to be controlled, as Styles sits in half guard.
Walker slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
TJ Styles has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jonesey Walker is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to TJ Styles.
I think Walker has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
