Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between James Hummels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leon Benson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Benson is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Shipping up to boston. Leon Benson will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Alyssa Summers and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hummels was well out of range. Poor timing from Benson.
Hummels shoots in but no luck this time.
Benson fails to land with a series of punches.
Hummels on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
A right-left combo lands from Benson.
Benson misses with a wild combination.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hummels.
Hummels darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hummels wants to lay and pray for a moment but Benson keeps working.
Hummels is taking a breather. Benson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Benson dips to his left and cracks Hummels with an uppercut!
Hummels closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Benson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hummels is working away from the top position though.

Hummels has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Hummels is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Benson can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Benson is still in real trouble! Can Hummels finish him?
Hummels is working for a guillotine from mount but Benson frees his head quite easily.

Benson seems to have recovered his senses.

Hummels's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Benson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hummels moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Benson rushes Hummels with punches - Hummels moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Hummels goes down! Benson follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
