Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mike Valentine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy Napranum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mike Valentine! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Billy Napranum! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Damien Edna and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Valentine fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Napranum throws a head kick that half lands.
Valentine closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Napranum's guard. Valentine pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Napranum is keeping the position for now. Valentine is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Valentine lands a couple of digs. Valentine passes Napranum's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Valentine throws a strike but Napranum avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Valentine has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Valentine passes Napranum's left leg - he's now in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Napranum has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Valentine is working away from the top position though. Valentine is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Valentine perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Napranum blocking the ground and pound attempt from Valentine. Valentine working over Napranum with some ground and pound. Napranum looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Napranum is staying active underneath Valentine, who seems content to just control the action from this position. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Napranum is not content to let Valentine control the position. Valentine tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Napranum is looking to improve his position.

With the fighters up against the cage, Valentine throws an elbow but misses. Valentine stalling in the clinch but Napranum improves position. Valentine tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Napranum smiles and moves away.
Billy Napranum seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Valentine throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Napranum stuffs the takedown attempt from Valentine. Valentine gets slowly back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mike Valentine dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

A punch combination from Napranum misses. Valentine fails in his attempt to clinch. Valentine rushes Napranum and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Napranum wants to break the clinch but can't.

That's one minute gone in the round. Napranum closes the distance but Valentine moves to the side and Valentine counters by moving into the clinch. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Napranum just misses with a elbow thrown towards Valentine's brow. Valentine looking for a takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mike Valentine. That's going to take a lot out of him. Napranum wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Valentine moves in looking to clinch but Napranum pushes him off. Valentine scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Valentine tries to close the distance and clinch but Napranum swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Napranum lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Valentine will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Napranum tries to clinch there but Valentine circles away.

That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Valentine takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Napranum throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Napranum throws a sloppy head kick and Valentine moves out of range easily. Napranum closes the distance and clinches. Napranum with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Napranum working hard to break the clinch. Valentine tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Napranum just stands there and leans against the cage. Valentine prevents Napranum from breaking the clinch. Napranum wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Valentine has him pressed against the cage. Napranum's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Billy Napranum is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Napranum will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Valentine misses the jab. Valentine misses with a takedown and Valentine takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Valentine tries to clinch but Napranum is having none of it. Mike Valentine is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Napranum scores with a head kick. Valentine tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Valentine closes this distance looking for a takedown but Napranum circles away. Napranum throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Napranum tries to close the distance and clinch but Valentine swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Napranum tries to clinch up. Valentine has a takedown stuffed. Napranum moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Billy Napranum showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Napranum won't allow Valentine to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Valentine wants to sweep but no luck. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Mike Valentine just wasn't active enough. Valentine keeps the fight on the outside. Valentine misses with a head kick.
