Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nick Shields (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dylan Peterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peterson has chosen Angerville Sin City Rmx Ft. Snak The Ripper & Evil Ebenezer as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Jonathan Paton and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peterson fails with the takedown

Peterson bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Shields goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Peterson has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Shields but great work by Peterson.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Shields stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Peterson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Shields connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Peterson some visible discomfort.
Peterson is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Shields's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Peterson wants to improve his position but Shields is controlling well.
Shields is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Shields ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Peterson moves away.

and Shields counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Peterson uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Shields.
Peterson dives in and grabs Shields's left leg, looking for a takedown. Shields pushes down on Peterson's head and hops out.

Peterson shoots for a double leg takedown but Shields sprawls well. He's pushed Peterson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Shields fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Peterson looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Shields looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Shields working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Shields tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Shields has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Shields has hold of Peterson's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Peterson seems comfortable defending it but Shields has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Peterson is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Peterson is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Shields couldn't care less - he's delighted!
