Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Junko Hatoru (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Hagen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Junko Hatoru!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tom Hagen!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Ren Mimura and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hatoru swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Hagen looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Hagen throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hatoru sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Hagen throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hagen scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Hagen looks for a takedown but Hatoru sprawls well.
A bone on bone clash there as Hatoru blocks the leg kick.
Hagen scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Hatoru takes one on the button.

Hatoru slips a jab from Hagen.
Hatoru moves out of range of the leg kick from Hagen.
Hatoru connects with a jab.
Hatoru displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hagen throws out the jab.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Hatoru.
Hatoru checks the leg kick nicely there.
Hatoru misses with a few strikes there.
Hatoru throws a right hand that misses
and Hagen counters with a left and a right that stings Hatoru.

Hatoru throws a hook but Hagen blocks it.
Hatoru looks to throw the jab but Hagen is out of range.

Hagen shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hatoru's guard.
Hagen wants to control from the top but Hatoru keeps moving.

Hatoru swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hagen throws a looping overhand right but Hatoru ducks down to avoid it.
Hatoru lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Hagen is looking to chop away at Hatoru's legs.
Hatoru slips a jab and a cross from Hagen.
Hatoru gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Hatoru tried to score with a low kick but Hagen checks it.

Hatoru throws a low kick but it's checked well by Hagen.
Hagen throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hatoru tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Hagen keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Hatoru.
Hatoru misses with a series of wild punches.
Hatoru cracks Hagen with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Hatoru moves out of range of the body kick from Hagen.

Hagen displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hatoru throws out the jab.
Hatoru cracks Hagen with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Hagen shoots in but no luck this time.
Hagen tests Hatoru's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Hagen avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Hagen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hatoru but Hatoru pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Hatoru throws a front kick that sends Hagen stumbling back into the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Junko Hatoru will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Hatoru rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hagen moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Hatoru throws a looping overhand right but Hagen ducks down to avoid it.
Tom Hagen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hagen tries to move into range but Hatoru moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Sloppy strikes from Hatoru. Those never looked like landing.
Hatoru tries a low kick but Hagen avoids it.
Hagen bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Hagen throws a hook but Hatoru avoids it easily.
Hatoru throws a lazy right hand but Hagen sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Nice sprawl there from Hatoru as Hagen shoots in.
Hagen tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hatoru was well out of range. Poor timing from Hagen.
Hatoru fails to land with a series of punches.

Hatoru gets caught flat footed, as Hagen shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Hagen controls from within his opponent's guard.
Hatoru utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Hatoru controlling Hagen's posture.

Hagen with a flurry of punches that miss.
Hatoru keeping moving, preventing Hagen from controlling successfully.
Hagen might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Hatoru kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Hagen missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Tom Hagen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hagen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
