Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Laurent Tesser!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Harry The Hatchett!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Robert Twigg and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tesser lands a left and a right that send The Hatchett crashing to the mat, dazed. Tesser thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


It looks like Harry The Hatchett has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A punch combination from Tesser misses.

Tesser instigates a clinch.
Tesser gets through The Hatchett's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Tesser lands with a short head shot on the inside.


The Hatchett is rocked!
Tesser working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
The Hatchett is still on wobbly legs! Can Tesser finish him?
The Hatchett is looking to break free of the clinch but Tesser has double underhooks.

The Hatchett wants to get back to striking at distance but Tesser won't allow it.

Tesser's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
The Hatchett seems to have recovered his senses.

The Hatchett looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Tesser is looking to escape.

The Hatchett is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Tesser sees it coming and defends easily.
Tesser knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for The Hatchett on the ground.
The Hatchett prevents Tesser from standing back up.

Tesser has one foot on The Hatchett's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
A combination from Tesser does no damage.

Tesser takes the fight into the clinch.
The Hatchett misses with some punches.
The Hatchett is trying to pull guard but Tesser turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Tesser breaks the clinch.
The Hatchett fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
The fight stays on the outside here - Tesser looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
The Hatchett shoots in looking for a takedown. Tesser tries to sprawl out of it but The Hatchett keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Tesser manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Laurent Tesser has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Harry The Hatchett.

The Hatchett shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. The Hatchett showed some decent athleticism there.
The Hatchett stops Tesser from getting back to his feet.

The Hatchett is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Tesser defends it well.
Tesser is looking to escape.

Tesser is defending against the submission attempts here by The Hatchett.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tesser tries to kick The Hatchett off but The Hatchett keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The Hatchett throwing shots but Tesser is blocking nicely.
The Hatchett frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Tesser is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

The Hatchett is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Tesser has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Tesser!

Tesser gets to his feet - The Hatchett follows without any prompting.
Tesser leaves The Hatchett with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Tesser lands an overhand right.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tesser misses with the combination.

Tesser moves into the clinch.
The Hatchett wants to get back to striking at distance but Tesser won't allow it.

Tesser breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Laurent Tesser is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Tesser fails with an attempt to clinch.
Nice cross by Tesser.
The Hatchett takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Tesser misses with a series of wild punches.
Tesser displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from The Hatchett.
The Hatchett looks gassed!
Tesser tries to close the distance and clinch up but The Hatchett swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Tesser's corner calls for a 1-2. Tesser obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tesser stuffs the takedown attempt from The Hatchett. The Hatchett gets slowly back to his feet.

Tesser forces The Hatchett back against the cage and clinches.
Tesser lands a hook that snaps the head of The Hatchett backwards.

Tesser manages to break the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Tesser is looking to clinch but The Hatchett is avoiding it.
Tesser tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but The Hatchett paws at him with a jab and circles away.
No joy there for Tesser, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
The Hatchett shoots for a double leg takedown but Tesser sprawls well. He's pushed The Hatchett's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
The Hatchett keeps the fight on the outside.

Tesser clinches up against the cage.
The Hatchett is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Tesser to keep the fight standing.

Tesser pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Tesser scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Tesser lands with a big right hook that stumbles The Hatchett - he's out on his feet here! Tesser follows up with another monster hook that separates The Hatchett from consciousness! The Hatchett falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Tesser stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Laurent Tesser!
