Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kurt Perrier! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dugi Pistolj! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, David Schapiro and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Perrier moves into the clinch. Pistolj drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Perrier lands a shot to the body. Perrier stalling against the cage.
Perrier scores with a shot to the side of Pistolj's head. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Pistolj's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Perrier digs a right hand into Pistolj's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Pistolj's gas tank. Perrier struggles to land a body shot inside as Pistolj controls his hands.
Perrier gets underhooks to prevent Pistolj's takedown attempt.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Perrier creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Perrier lands a hook to the side of the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stalling in the clinch from Perrier.
Perrier is defending well against a takedown attempt. Kurt Perrier has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dugi Pistolj. Pistolj has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Perrier avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Perrier creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Pistolj has Perrier pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Perrier manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Perrier lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Pistolj backwards. Pistolj looks gassed! Perrier controlling the action here for a moment.
Perrier presses Pistolj against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Perrier stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Perrier lands a hook that snaps the head of Pistolj backwards. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Perrier pushes Pistolj back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Perrier lands with a right to the head.
Pistolj is rocked! An uppercut to the body lands inside from Perrier. Pistolj is still on wobbly legs! Can Perrier finish him? The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. A quick uppercut on the inside from Perrier. Perrier dips a shoulder and cracks Pistolj with a mighty uppercut! Pistolj falls back against the cage and Perrier unloads with a barrage of strikes! Pistolj is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Perrier screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
