Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sultan with a poor takedown
and Cooke counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Cooke.
A body shot lands from Cooke.
Cooke digs a right hand underneath Sultan's ribcage. Sultan let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Cooke makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Cooke is struggling to control the position.
Cooke lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
It looks like Santian Sultan has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!

An uppercut to the body lands inside from Cooke.
Sultan looks gassed!
Cooke is stalling here.
Cooke lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Cooke lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Cooke works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cooke accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Sultan being controlled here, momentarily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cooke tries to free his leg and advance position but Sultan is retaining full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Eric Cooke just wasn't active enough.
Cooke connects with a left and a right that sees a clearly hurt Sultan covering up! Cooke comes in with a big uppercut and Sultan goes doooown! He's slumped up against the cage, eyes staring blankly into space.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Eric Cooke!
