And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marcelo Nogueira!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Ryoma Takatsuka and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

James pushes Nogueira up against the cage in a clinch.
James is trying to force a seperation but Nogueira has the dominant position.
Nogueira jumps guard but James stands there with Nogueira around his waist. Nogueira gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Nogueira effectively controlling the action here.
Nogueira is looking to take this one to the mat.
James is trying to pull guard but Nogueira has him pressed against the cage.
James takes an elbow to the forehead.


It looks like Tank James has been cut.
James is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

James escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
James swinging wildly here.
Nogueira throws a series of punches but James avoids them all with ease.
Nogueira tries to clinch there but James circles away.
Nogueira shoots in for a takedown but James shows good takedown defense.
Tank James has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcelo Nogueira.
James ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Nogueira moves away.
James rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Nogueira moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
James swats away the attempt to clinch by Nogueira.
Nogueira tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. James manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Nogueira tries to circle away but James has him pinned against the cage.
James tries to break the clinch but Nogueira is controlling the position.
James tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Nogueira avoids it.
James is trying to push Nogueira away but Nogueira has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
A bit of stalling here from Nogueira.

Nogueira tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
James tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Nogueira just stands there and leans against the cage.
Nogueira dodges an elbow strike from James.
Nogueira tries to break free but James pushes him back against the cage.
James is trying to break the clinch but Nogueira has him pressed against the cage.
James looking to stall.
James tries to work over Nogueira's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

James manages to break the clinch.
Nogueira ducks under a wild hook from James.
Nogueira tries to clinch up.

James shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
James will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Nogueira tries to hold on but James pushes him away.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
James lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nogueira tries to hold on but James pushes him away.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nogueira can do anything to dispel that myth.

Nogueira is bucking up trying to escape but James cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Nogueira is rocked!
James postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Nogueira badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of James around the waist but James pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! James is the winner by TKO! James jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tank James!
A very excited looking Tank James made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
