Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Errol Field (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ippo Makounchi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Field might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Best of Sakuraba. The crowd seem to be enjoying Makounchi's choice of entrance music: its all love remix. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Ippo Makounchi!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Shigeki Sano and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Makounchi misses with a few strikes there.
Makounchi thows a body shot but no joy.
Makounchi rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Field moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Makounchi lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Field circles away quickly and effectively.
Makounchi throws a sloppy head kick and Field moves out of range easily.
Field fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Makounchi avoids it really well and circles away.
Makounchi throws a left and a right that both miss
and Field decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Makounchi's guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Makounchi pushes Field off and gets back to his feet.
Field avoids the head kick by Makounchi.
Makounchi is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Makounchi falls off balance throwing a combination
and Field counters with a takedown into side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Field wants to control but Makounchi is keeping him busy.
Makounchi tries to escape back to his feet but Field has kept hold of him... Oh, now he's got Makounchi's back and is looking for the choke... Is it? Is it sunk in? YES! Makounchi is tapping! Field saw the opportunity and took it - ruthless!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Errol Field!
After winning the bout, Errol Field thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
