PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Neil Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Styles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Styles has chosen Where Them Girls At as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miller ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Styles moves away.
Miller swings for the body but Styles moves out of range.
Styles avoids the body shot from Miller.
Miller lands a right hook to the body.
Miller throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Styles dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Miller. That did some damage!
Styles looks to score with a jab to the body but Miller is just out of range.
Miller scores with a jab. Styles acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Miller throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Styles is looking to slow Miller down with leg kicks.
Miller avoids a kick to the body.
Styles throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Styles throws a leg kick which misses Miller's front leg but catches the back leg as Miller tries to avoid it.

Styles is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Miller.
Miller connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Styles moves out of range as Miller strikes.
Miller gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Styles counters with a good low kick that Miller was not able to check.
Styles fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Miller is out of range.
Miller throws a jab but it's blocked by Styles.

Styles throws a body kick that misses.
Miller staying out of range there.

and Styles counters with a body kick.
Styles looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Styles fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Miller manages to avoid it.

Styles avoids a punch combination nicely.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Miller lands a slapping body shot.
Styles slips a straight right by Miller.
Miller smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Styles uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Miller.
Miller looks to score with a jab to the body but Styles is just out of range.
Styles doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Miller throws a jab but it's blocked by Styles.
Miller takes a swing at Styles's ribcage but misses.
Styles slips under a jab.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Miller chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Styles can pounce on him.
Styles is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Miller.
Miller throws a half hearted mid kick.
Miller misses with a straight left.
Miller uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Styles has time to react.
Miller misses the shot to the body.
Styles throws a chopping leg kick but Miller manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Miller closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Miller lands in his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Miller advances position into side control!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Styles can do anything to dispel that myth.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Styles on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Styles takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Styles is looking for a sweep.
Miller controls the position from side control.
Miller lands some shots froms side control.
Miller grinds an elbow into Styles's temple.
Miller has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Miller working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Miller connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Styles some visible discomfort.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Miller cracks Styles with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Miller is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Styles can do to turn this around?

Miller lands with a right that hurts Styles. Styles looks to clinch but Miller throws a short knee that drops Styles. This one is all over!
