Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Leo Bennet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Jom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Leo Bennet! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jim Jom! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Josh West and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jom misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Bennet shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jom as he jumps to the side. Horrible takedown by Bennet or perhaps it was just good defense by Jom which made him look bad. Jom scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Bennet walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Bennet misses the jab. Bennet closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Bennet working the body and head with strikes. Bennet tries to score with some ground and pound. Jom controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Bennet is looking to take a break and control but Jom is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Jom trying to remain calm as Bennet controls from the top position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bennet stands up. A head kick misses from Jom. Jom misses with a head kick.
Jom throws a low kick but Bennet avoids it. Bennet scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Bennet tries to move into full mount but can't pass Jom's legs. Jom wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Jom is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The strikes coming from Bennet are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Bennet scores with a couple of short elbows. Jom looking for a sweep but Bennet has passed into full mount! Oh no! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bennet trying to control but Jom is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jom is desperately trying to improve his position but Bennet has a good base and remains in mount. Jom wants to control but Bennet is having none of it. Bennet tries to control but Jom wriggling away. Jom is bucking up trying to escape but Bennet cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bennet controlling the pace for now. Jom is in all sorts of trouble here.
Jom blocking the ground and pound. Jom regains half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bennet thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jom's head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Leo Bennet dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Bennet tries to close the distance and clinch but Jom swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Jom looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Bennet fails with a takedown attempt. Jom lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
It looks like Leo Bennet has been cut. A left and a right from Jom both land. Nice combination. Bennet looks to land a body kick but Jom moved away. Bennet looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Jom blocks a head kick by Bennet.
Jom goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Jom throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Leo Bennet is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Jom with a hook. Jom fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bennet avoids it really well and circles away. The crowd cheers as Jom lands an impressive looking overhand right. Bennet doesn't seem phased though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bennet closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jom circles away. Jom scores with a three punch combo!
Jom looks to land a combination. Bennet sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Left hook, right uppercut from Jom. Jom feints a jab promting Bennet to slip. Jom then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Bennet slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Jim Jom seems to be getting the better of the standup. Bennet tries to clinch but fails miserably and Jom counters with a left and a right that stings Bennet. Jim Jom seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jom is breathing heavily. Bennet tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Bennet misses with a leg kick. Jom tries a head kick but it misses.
Jom looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Bennet takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jom slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Jom tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Jom throws a sloppy head kick and Bennet moves out of range easily. Jom misses with a double jab.
No luck for Bennet with that takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Leo Bennet. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Jom throws a head kick but Bennet moves out of range.

Bennet scores a takedown into full mount! Bennet controlling from the full mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bennet lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Bennet with shots to the head and body - Jom looks very uncomfortable down there. Leo Bennet overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Bennet working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Jom is in a horrible position here. Bennet smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bennet looking to control but Jom is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Jom tries to lock up and control but Bennet gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jom is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

A close second round but Jim Jom will probably get the nod - 10:9. The cut man is working on Leo Bennet's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Jom's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Jom duly obliges. Bennet shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jom pinned against the cage. Jom gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Bennet dodges the punch combination from Jom.
Jom throws a one two combo.
Nice jab there from Jom. Bennet is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Jom. Jom throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Jom throws a low kick but it's checked well by Bennet. Bennet on the wrong end of a nice hook. Jom misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jom takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Jom swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Bennet has a takedown stuffed. Bennet tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Bennet misses with a takedown attempt - Jom sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Leo Bennet. Nice jab by Jom. Jom defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Bennet. Jom lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Bennet backs up against the cage.
Jom pivots, looking for a leg kick but Bennet is out of range and Jom settles back down. Jom has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Jom throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Jom looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bennet is fending him off so far but Jom persists. Nope, Bennet circles away and we're back to standing. Bennet tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Bennet drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Jom holds on and takes a little breather. Bennet trying to control but Jom is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bennet looking to sit in guard and control but Jom gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Jom trying to control but Bennet is working from the bottom. Bennet might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Jom preventing the sweep.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jom sitting in guard here, content to control.
Jim Jom has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Jom tries a head kick but it misses.
Jom is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Some wild striking there from Jom.
Bennet is looking to clinch. Bennet on the wrong end of a nice hook. Bennet shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Jom manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Bennet trying to control the position from guard on top but Jom is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jom is trying to keep Bennet in close.
And that's the end of the fight! Jim Jom comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Jom has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
