Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vadim Cesna (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miles Stringer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Miles Stringer! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Robert Douchet and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stringer clinches up with Cesna and pushes him back against the cage. Stringer looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Stringer cracks Cesna with a nice body shot. Stringer is pressed up against the cage. Cesna has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Stringer down to the mat. Stringer avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Cesna closes this distance looking for a takedown but Stringer circles away. Cesna takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Nice sprawl there from Stringer as Cesna shoots in. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vadim Cesna. That's going to take a lot out of him. Stringer gets a takedown into half guard. Cesna is pressing down on Stringer's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Cesna is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Stringer is not content to let Cesna control the position. Cesna tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Cesna has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Stringer is trying to get back to half guard. Stringer is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Cesna is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Cesna prevents Stringer from getting the reversal. Stringer gets back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cesna is keen to just control but Stringer is a slippery customer. Cesna tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Stringer. Cesna wants to work for an arm triangle but Stringer is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Cesna misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Cesna works to advance to full mount. Stringer defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Cesna stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stringer drops back looking for a leg! Cesna is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Cesna manages to kick Stringer off! Stringer jumps back into Cesna's guard. Cesna controls Stringer momentarily but Stringer frees himself. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Cesna keeping full guard, as Stringer tries to pass. Stringer won't allow Cesna to sweep him here. Stringer wants to control from the top but Cesna keeps moving. Cesna is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stringer stands and steps away. Cesna gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Cesna has his takedown stuffed and Stringer counters with a nice body kick.

It's preventing any offense from Cesna, at least for the moment. Cesna wants to control from the top but Stringer keeps moving.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Stringer does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Cesna fails with the takedown and Stringer counters with a single leg into guard. Cesna didn't expect that. This has been an exciting period of action! Cesna looking for a sweep. Not yet Cesna, not yet. Cesna has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Stringer can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Cesna throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

Cesna tries to land a sweep but no joy. Cesna lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Stringer! Stringer tries to lock up and control but Cesna gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Cesna postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Stringer looks a forlorn figure.

Stringer is rocked! Cesna has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Stringer's face.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cesna looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Cesna punching from mount but Stringer doing a good job of avoiding damage. Cesna is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Stringer is surviving well by controlling Cesna's body position as best he can. Stringer is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Miles Stringer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Cesna's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
