Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sapp fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Li avoids it really well and circles away.
Sapp throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Li's waist but Li gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sapp off to one side.
Sapp fails in his attempt to clinch.

Sapp manages to pull guard.
Li working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Sapp is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Sapp keeping moving, preventing Li from controlling successfully.
Li stopping the sweep attempt from Sapp.
Li chips away with some ground and pound.

Li pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sapp is keeping the position for now.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Li lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Li can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Sapp is looking to escape.
BOOM! Li connects with a massive shot to the dome!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sapp is in all sorts of trouble here.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Li shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Sapp is on top in guard.

Sapp really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Li. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Sapp wants to lay and pray for a moment but Li keeps working.
Sapp might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Li kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Bob Sapp wasn't active enough on the ground.
Sapp changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Li tries to avoid it but Sapp manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Li to the ground. Li escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Freddy Li is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Sapp shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Li pinned against the cage. Li gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Li throws a shot from downtown. Sapp moves away and avoids it.
Sapp slips a straight right by Li.

Li shoots in and bounces Sapp off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Li passes Sapp's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Sapp pushes Li off looking to stand but Li dives back in and keeps control.
Sapp strikes from the bottom but Li uses the opportunity to move to side control.
Sapp is trying to get back to half guard.
Sapp wants to control but Li postures up.

Li is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Sapp knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Sapp is trying to improve his position.
Sapp is breathing heavily.

Li is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Sapp's shoulder. That is not cool.

Li goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Sapp rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Li's guard! Nice work there by Sapp!

Freddy Li overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's time! Li's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Li has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sapp is working away from the top position though.
Sapp is keen to just control but Li is a slippery customer.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Bob Sapp was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Sapp moves in looking to clinch but Li pushes him off.
Sapp displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Li.
Li misses with a looping left.
Li swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Li misses the jab.
Sapp fails with a takedown attempt.

Sapp wants to clinch up but Li keeps it at a distance.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Li here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Sapp fails with an attempt to clinch.

Sapp closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Sapp tries to pass the half guard into mount. Li knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Li holds on and takes a little breather.

Li is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Li tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Sapp wants to control from the top but Li keeps moving.

Li has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Sapp off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Li gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Sapp to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Li controls Sapp momentarily but Sapp frees himself.
Sapp trying to control the position from guard on top but Li is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Bob Sapp comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Li has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
