Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rez Cortez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ali Jefferson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Cortez might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Hit Me Baby One More Time by Britney Spears . Ali Jefferson told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Paul Gruel and Josh West.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cortez throws a body punch but Jefferson moves out of range.
Cortez stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Jefferson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Jefferson wants to pass to mount but Cortez is defending the position.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
