Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rickson Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ederson Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alves has chosen DMX - The Rain as his entrance music. Rickson Silva has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rickson Silva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ederson Alves! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Seu Braga and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alves throws a series of punches but Silva moves out of range. Alves moves to clinch but Silva breaks away and Silva counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Alves's guard now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Alves wants to stand and escape but Silva is having none of it. Alves is trying to keep Silva in close.
Alves wants to sweep here but Silva controlling him for the moment. Silva has gone for a leg lock! Alves slips out almost immediately though and dives into Silva's guard. Silva looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Silva had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Alves defends it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Alves wants to get back to his feet.
Alves wants to control but Silva is keeping busy.
Silva wants to work for an arm triangle but Alves is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Silva is working for a kimura but Alves is defending it quite comfortably.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alves trying to control but Silva postures up.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Silva is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Alves is just riding it out for now. Silva eventually gives up the hold.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Alves has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Silva is working away from the top position though. Silva is working for a kimura but Alves is defending it quite comfortably.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Alves is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Silva pulls his head out easily. Silva is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Alves sees it coming and defends easily. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Alves has hold of Silva's hands but Silva slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Silva is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Alves is looking to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rickson Silva dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Silva fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Silva checks a leg kick. Rickson Silva is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. A solid leg kick lands there for Alves.
Alves tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Silva paws at him with a jab and circles away. Alves misses with a double jab.
Silva fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Alves to the ground. Silva is now in Alves's guard. Rickson Silva overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Silva throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Alves works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Alves looking to control.
Silva postures up in Alves's guard and throws a big left but Alves blocks it. Silva is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alves throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Silva sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Alves's guard. Silva is looking for a kimura here.
Alves moves into full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Alves is on top in guard.
Silva has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Alves can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Alves is pushing down on Silva's leg trying to pass to half guard. Silva is fighting to maintain full guard but Alves has managed to sneak the leg through. Silva is defending against the submission attempts here by Alves.
Silva wants to get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alves moves into full mount! Silva won't be happy about that! Silva slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Silva is not content to let Alves control the position. Silva regains full guard. Nicely done. Alves wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving. Silva bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Alves's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Silva slips nicely into half guard. Alves looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Alves is breathing heavily. Alves looks like he's trying to stand up.
Alves is defending against the submission attempts here by Silva.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Alves is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Silva jumps into side control! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Rickson Silva will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Silva circles away from the clinch attempt and Silva counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Silva trying to mount his opponent but Alves defends it. Silva scoring with strikes to the body and head. Alves wants to get back to his feet. Alves wants to get back to full guard. Alves tries to kick Silva off but Silva keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Silva is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Alves is just riding it out for now. Silva eventually gives up the hold. Alves wants to sweep but Silva has passed to side control!
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva tries for a kimura but Alves is defending well. Silva wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Alves, who protects the arm well. Silva scores with a couple of short elbows.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silva working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Alves is trying to get back to half guard. Alves is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Silva is trying to get an arm triangle but Alves is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alves is looking to get back to his feet here but Silva is keeping cool and he's managed to take Alves's back. I really don't envy Alves right now.
Silva is trying to stick to Alves's back but Alves is turning into Silva. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Silva's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Alves. Silva is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Silva bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Alves's guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Alves is trying to control the position but Silva postures up. Alves throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Silva escapes and throws Alves's legs to the side, diving into side control! Silva looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Silva prevents Alves from escaping the position.
And that's the end of the fight! Rickson Silva showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Silva, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
