PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bullet Proof (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chad Travis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Proof misses with a takedown attempt - Travis sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Travis throws a front kick aimed at Proof's knee but Proof avoids it well.
Proof shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Travis as he jumps to the side.
Horrible takedown by Proof or perhaps it was just good defense by Travis which made him look bad.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Bullet Proof.
Travis takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

That's time! Proof's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Proof looks for a takedown but Travis sprawls well.
The fight stays on the outside here - Proof looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Proof tries to close the distance and clinch but Travis swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Travis escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Proof gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

We're going to have a standup here because Bullet Proof wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Travis showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Proof.
Proof fails with an attempt to clinch.

Travis is breathing heavily.
Proof shoots in for a takedown but Travis shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Proof trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Travis utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Proof stands and throws Travis's legs to the side, diving into side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Proof sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Travis is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Proof wants to lay and pray for a moment but Travis keeps working.

Proof tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Travis wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Proof has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Travis's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Travis is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Proof!
