Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, David Vangaard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jeremy Lin!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Radbod Blank and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Lin preventing the sweep.
Lin sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Vangaard looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lin is one step ahead there.
Vangaard is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Vangaard wants to sweep but no luck.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Lin darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

It looks like Lin is going to stand back up.

Vangaard makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Vangaard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vangaard is controlling Lin's posture.
Lin looking to pass the guard.
Vangaard is trying to control the position but Lin postures up.
Lin controls from within his opponent's guard.
Lin with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Vangaard not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Lin won't allow Vangaard to sweep him here.
Vangaard is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lin stays in close to Vangaard's body and controls the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up because David Vangaard just wasn't active enough.

Lin looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Lin postures up.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Lin won't allow Vangaard to sweep him here.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Vangaard is on top in guard.

Lin is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Vangaard defends well.

Vangaard trying to control but Lin is working from the bottom.

Lin throws his legs up looking for a submission but Vangaard uses it to pass to side control.
Lin can't do much from the bottom here.
Vangaard tries to move to mount but Lin blocks the move with his legs.

Vangaard is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Lin is trying to escape and Vangaard transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Lin is forced to tap! Nice work there by Vangaard! Very nice indeed!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). David Vangaard!
David Vangaard was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
