The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Groot throws a head kick that half lands.
Kottari swings for the body but De Groot moves out of range.
Kottari lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but De Groot circles away quickly and effectively.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kottari. De Groot does a little dance to reset his feet.
De Groot moves out of range as Kottari strikes.
Kottari tries to bum rush De Groot with a series of wild strikes but De Groot uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
De Groot throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Kottari misses with an uppercut. De Groot saw that one coming.
De Groot lands a high kick!

De Groot gets caught flat footed, as Kottari shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

De Groot can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kottari controls the pace.
De Groot utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
De Groot is looking to stand up but Kottari isn't so interested in that idea.
De Groot wants to sweep but no luck.
De Groot knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kottari on the ground.

Kottari works over De Groot with some ground and pound from guard.
Kottari cracks De Groot with a solid left hand.
Kottari seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
De Groot wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Kottari is now in half guard.
Kottari is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kottari takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

De Groot trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Kottari takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Kottari postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks De Groot out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Kottari goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!
