Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dean Campana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Donavan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scott Donavan has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dean Campana! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 26 - 1, fighting out of New York, Scott Donavan! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Lou da Vinci and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Donavan chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Campana can pounce on him.
Donavan thows a body shot but no joy. Campana misses with a straight right. Donavan tries to bum rush Campana with a series of wild strikes but Campana uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Donavan throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Campana stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Campana scores with a jab. Donavan acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Donavan on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Campana. Campana obviously looking to wear him down.
Campana lands a nice looking body shot.
Donavan throws a series of punches but Campana avoids them all with ease. A combination from Donavan does no damage. Donavan with a body punch. A glancing blow. Campana scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Campana throwing shots but Donavan is blocking nicely. Campana scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Campana keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
That's one minute gone in the round. Donavan blocking the ground and pound attempt from Campana. Campana controlling the action here. Campana has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

We're going to have a standup here because Dean Campana wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Campana lands with a nice body punch. Campana feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Donavans jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Donavan keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Campana scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Donavan is looking for a sweep. Donavan avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Campana. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. This has been an exciting period of action! Campana working the body and head with strikes. Campana creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Donavan sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Campana remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Campana landing a few strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Campana lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Donavan down.
Campana tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Campana has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Campana throws a strike aimed at the side of Donavan's head but Donavan avoids it well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Donavan defending against the ground and pound. Campana tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Donavan seems a little lost for a moment, as Campana dominates the positioning. Campana has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Campana throws a strike aimed at the side of Donavan's head but Donavan avoids it well. Campana looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Donavan is avoiding damage well.
Donavan can't do much from the bottom here. Campana connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Donavan some visible discomfort.
Campana scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Donavan to see if he's OK. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! You can see the frustration on Donavan's face as Campana controls the position. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Campana throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dean Campana dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Campana closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Campana postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Campana lands a few punches from side control. Campana remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Campana in side control, throwing shots but Donavan defends.

and Campana counters with a left to the body. Donavan is breathing heavily. A solid leg kick lands there for Campana.
Donavan moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Campana thows a body kick. Donavan tries to catch it but that hurt him. Campana lands a nice looking kick to the body. Donavan takes a step back to recover. Campana shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Campana not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Campana is controlling the pace.
Campana wants to free his trapped foot but Donavan is holding on for dear life with his legs.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Campana not landing any meaningful shots this time. Campana with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Campana throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dean Campana dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Campana is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Donavan can do to turn this around? Donavan wants to improve his position but Campana is controlling well.
That's one minute gone in the round. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Campana thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Donavan's head. Campana not landing any meaningful shots this time. Campana wants to pass to mount but Donavan is defending the position. Donavan avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Campana. Still in half guard, Campana seems content to control. Donavan wants to control but Campana is keeping busy.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Donavan throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Campana makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Donavan takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Donavan jabbing away but nothing is landing. Campana connects with a jab. Scott Donavan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Donavan throws a lazy right hand but Campana sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Nice uppercut there from Campana. A shot to the liver by Campana. Beautiful body shot. Campana throws a nice outside leg kick. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Campana shoots for a double leg takedown but Donavan sprawls well. He's pushed Campana's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Campana feints and as Donavan raises his hands in defense, Campana changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Campana missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Campana is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Campana makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Campana forces his way into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Campana is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Campana seems to be working for a kimura but Donavan defends the submission attempt. Campana seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Dean Campana overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Campana winds up and cracks Donavan with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Campana has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Donavan defend it? Campana steps over the head and cranks it - Donavan is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Campana!
