The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hill misses with a head kick.
Hill throws a leg kick which misses Galard's front leg but catches the back leg as Galard tries to avoid it.
Hank Hill seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hill connects with an inside leg kick.
Galard takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Hill tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Galard just misses with a punch to the body.
Hill scoring well with a low kick there.
Galard fails with a takedown attempt.
Hill bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Galard's head backwards.
Galard throws a body punch but Hill moves out of range.

Galard scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Hank Hill just wasn't active enough.
Galard shoots in looking for a takedown but Hill manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Galard's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Hank Hill has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mario Galard.

Galard takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Hill takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Hill turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Galard on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Hill fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Galard.

Galard changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hill tries to avoid it but Galard manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hill to the ground. Hill escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Hill lands with a kick to the temple. Galard shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

It looks like Mario Galard has been cut.
Hill getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
A lazy left from Hill finds it's target.
Hill dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Galard fails in his attempt to clinch.
Hill fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Hill counters with a thumping low kick.

An inside leg kick lands from Hill.

A solid leg kick lands there for Hill.
Hill throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Galard on the side of the head.
Hill pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hill lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Galard backs up against the cage.
Galard's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Hill connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Galard scrambles back to his feet.
Hill lands with an overhand left.

Galard is rocked!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Hill lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Galard up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Hill from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Galard's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.
