Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Santos Kazashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nate Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carter has chosen Party Rock Anthem as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Michael Santos Kazashi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nate Carter!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Felipe Paraventi and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carter moves into the clinch.
Santos Kazashi looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Santos Kazashi has picked Carter up - he's going for a ride! Santos Kazashi dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Carter wants to sweep but Santos Kazashi has passed to side control!
Carter is looking to reverse the position.

Carter drives through with a takedown into Santos Kazashi's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Santos Kazashi working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Carter doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Carter manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Carter wants to get up but he can't break Santos Kazashi's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Nate Carter was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Santos Kazashi wants to sweep here but Carter controlling him for the moment.

Carter shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Santos Kazashi napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Carter wants to stand but Santos Kazashi is controlling his arm.

Carter decides to stand back up. Carter steps back and let's Santos Kazashi get back to his feet.

Carter shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Santos Kazashi is trying to defend but Carter finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Carter seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Santos Kazashi does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Santos Kazashi is really struggling to control Carter but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Carter keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Nate Carter has got the better of the ground game so far.
Carter tries to reverse the position but Santos Kazashi maintains control.
Carter tries to lock up and control but Santos Kazashi gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Santos Kazashi wants to control the pace but Carter is squirming around nicely.

Santos Kazashi will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Nate Carter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Nate Carter hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
The fighters circling - Santos Kazashi throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Carter dives in and scores a takedown into Santos Kazashi's guard.

Carter gets to his feet. Santos Kazashi looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Carter manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Santos Kazashi on his heels. He'll look to pass Santos Kazashi's guard now, I'm sure.

Carter slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Carter decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Santos Kazashi tries to close the distance and clinch but Carter swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Carter closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Carter lands in his opponent's guard.

Carter drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Santos Kazashi manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Carter has Santos Kazashi in his guard.

Santos Kazashi gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Carter should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Santos Kazashi has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Carter can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
