Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mitch Layden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trevor Leszczynski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Daniel Bishop and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Layden misses with a leg kick
and Leszczynski counters by clinching up.
Leszczynski ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Leszczynski no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Leszczynski is trying to control the position but Layden postures up.
Layden throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Leszczynski wants to sweep here but Layden controlling him for the moment.
Layden wants to control from the top but Leszczynski keeps moving.

Leszczynski isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Layden stacks Leszczynski on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Layden!

Layden thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Mitch Layden overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Layden is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Leszczynski has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Leszczynski!
