Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between John YJ (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bill Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bill Smith looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John YJ!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bill Smith!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Ren Mimura and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice leg kick lands there from YJ.
Smith looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

YJ instigates a clinch.
Smith gets underhooks to prevent YJ's takedown attempt.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

YJ manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
YJ is pulling down on Smith's head. It's preventing any offense from Smith, at least for the moment.
Smith really doesn't want to stay on the ground with YJ. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

YJ has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Smith can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Smith should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

YJ is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Smith defends well.
YJ pulls Smith in close to his closed guard and prevents Smith from doing any damage or advancing position.

YJ is looking for a triangle but Smith pushes his legs off easily.

YJ had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Smith defends it easily.
YJ really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now YJ is on top in guard.

YJ stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Smith swivels though and keeps the full guard.
YJ is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

We're going to have a standup here because John YJ wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Smith uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by YJ.

Smith misses with a double jab.
YJ throws a head kick that half lands.
Smith keeps the fight on the outside.

YJ doesn't manage to clinch there - Smith circles away.
YJ shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Smith pinned against the cage. Smith gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
YJ fails with the takedown.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from YJ.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
YJ scores with a shot to the body.

YJ tries to bum rush Smith with a series of wild strikes but Smith uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

YJ bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

YJ decides to stand back up. YJ steps back and let's Smith get back to his feet.
YJ looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Smith stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Smith wants it to stay on the feet.
YJ misses with a takedown attempt - Smith sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John YJ. That's going to take a lot out of him.
YJ tries to score a power double leg takedown but Smith sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten YJ somewhat.

YJ tries to close the distance and clinch but Smith swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
YJ changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Smith tries to avoid it but YJ manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Smith to the ground. Smith escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
YJ scores with the left hand. Smith knows he should have avoided that one.
YJ closes the distance and clinches up with Smith, looking for a takedown. YJ pushes Smith against the cage but Smith circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
YJ has a takedown stuffed.

YJ tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Smith manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Smith throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Smith misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Smith is trying hard to land a takedown here. YJ sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Smith defends well against a solid takedown attempt from YJ.
Sloppy strikes from Smith. Those never looked like landing.
YJ tries to clinch up but Smith circles away and keeps his distance.

YJ fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Smith sprawls well initially but YJ persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
YJ will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
YJ working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
YJ content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
YJ prevents Smith from standing back up.
John YJ overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

YJ is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Smith doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time YJ.
Smith is in trouble now - YJ has advanced to mount!

YJ looking to control but Smith is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
YJ controlling the pace for now.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

YJ throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Smith.

YJ shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Smith sprawls well. Smith wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. YJ gets slowly back to his feet.

YJ shoots in and gets a takedown into Smith's guard.

YJ wants to control from the top but Smith keeps moving.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Smith wants to hit a switch here but YJ passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Smith there!
YJ can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Smith is looking to escape.

YJ scores with a couple of good head shots there.
YJ wants to control the pace but Smith is squirming around nicely.
YJ pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Smith is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

YJ is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Smith to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Smith shrugs it off.
YJ can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Smith is looking to escape.
Bill Smith has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Smith defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from YJ.

John YJ showed his dominance in that final round.
Well YJ has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
