The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Asano fails with a takedown attempt.
Asano fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. ORielly sprawls well initially but Asano persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Asano not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Asano working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
ORielly pushes Asano off looking to stand but Asano dives back in and keeps control.
Asano thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing ORielly to regain full guard.
ORielly is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
ORielly gets through Asano's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Asano tries for a takedown but ORielly manages to get underhooks.
Asano fails to pull the fight into his guard.

ORielly decides to stand up, so the ref orders Asano to his feet.
Asano is breathing heavily.

ORielly uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
ORielly connects with a good right hand that stumbles Asano. Asano circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Asano takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Nice takedown defense from ORielly. No joy for Asano on that attempt.
A left lands for ORielly.
ORielly lands with an uppercut that bounces Asano off the cage and back into rage.
ORielly clobbers Asano with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
