Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Taylor Mendonca!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Randy throws a half hearted mid kick.
Mendonca instigates a clinch.
Mendonca wants to take the fight to the mat but Randy manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Mendonca is working for takedown but Randy is calmly controlling the position for now.
Mendonca drops down looking for an ankle pick but Randy pulls his leg out and moves away.
Dirty Randy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Taylor Mendonca.
Randy swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Mendonca counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Randy is concentrating on defense, preventing Mendonca from advancing position.

Randy avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Mendonca.
Mendonca wants to stand up but Randy is controlling the position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Randy keeps control of the position for the meantime.

The fighters are battling for position here. Randy manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mendonca throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Randy manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mendonca manages to get himself to full guard.
Mendonca working a defensive guard but Randy manages to pass into side control anyway.
Randy just content to control the position.
Mendonca tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.

Randy sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Randy has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Mendonca's face.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Mendonca tries to improve his position but Randy has taken his back! Randy has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Mendonca tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Randy pushes Mendonca away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
